Over the past few seasons, this event has gained a reputation for delivering electrifying performances, thanks to a group of historically fast athletes who regularly compete against each other.

The 2025 season will feature the full Paris Olympic podium and the fastest woman of 2024, ensuring that the excitement continues.

Nugent, Russell, and Camacho-Quinn each hold personal bests of 12.24, 12.25, and 12.26 seconds respectively.

The three athletes are all ranked in the top 10 all-time for the event, with Cyrena Samba-Mayela to the mix, and the field becomes even more unpredictable.

Women’s 400m and 400m Hurdles

The women’s 400m hurdles has been in recent time largely dominated Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

As the world’s best 400m hurdler, coming off a record-setting 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, McLaughlin-Levrone is expected to maintain her dominance in 2025

However, the intrigue in this event lies not in the eventual winner but in how the Olympic champion’s participation might elevate the competition pushing the rest who in turn will push her.

Challenging her will be two-time World Championship silver medalist in the 400m hurdles, Shamier Little, two-time World Championship bronze medalist Rushell Clayton, and NCAA champion and U.S. Olympian Jasmine Jones.

Also in play is whether the dominant Levrone can upset reigning Olympic 400m champion Marileidy Paulino in the 400m.

The 400m maestro has had an undefeated season, making history as the first Dominican woman to win an Olympic gold. She also secured top honors at the Diamond League Meeting final in Brussels.

Their encounter will most certainly make for a fierce match-up that fans will be licking their fingers over.
