Football from Tennessee gets Duke is moving back. Star Thomas…
Tennessee football has picked up a commitment from Duke running back transfer Star Thomas, he announced Sunday.
The 6-foot running back ran for 871 yards and seven touchdowns in his lone season with the Blue Devils in 2024. He also caught 20 passes for 153 yards and another score.
Thomas transferred to Duke after two seasons with New Mexico State. The Louisiana native began his college career at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas.
In two seasons at New Mexico State, Thomas appeared in 28 games and rushed for a total of 1,173 yards and nine touchdowns, while making 34 catches for 351 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. He earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors in 2023.
Thomas adds experience and a proven track record of offensive producing to the Tennessee running back room, which lost Dylan Sampson to the NFL Draft and Cam Seldon to the transfer portal this year.
