Blue Bloods’ Danny spinoff has solidified its release window on CBS, confirming the show’s final title with a nostalgic teaser from the main series. The upcoming Blue Bloods spinoff was confirmed earlier this year, and will see Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan heading to Boston, Massachusetts for the next chapter of his journey. While not much has been revealed about the series as of writing, it will see the original show’s protagonist teaming up with the daughter of a police family as he adjusts to his new position in the city. Now, Wahlberg has posted a teaser of his spinoff on Instagram, using footage of Danny from Blue Bloods. The video and actor both confirmed the spinoff will be titled Boston Blue, after the name of the series had been listed as a working title by CBS. The short also revealed the new show will premiere in fall 2025. Check out the teaser below: What Boston Blue’s Release Date Means For The Series
The end of Blue Bloods laid the groundwork for potentially more stories with the Reagan family, especially for Danny after he seemingly has a future with Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez). It’s unclear if Ramirez will be reprising her role in the new show, as it’s only been confirmed that Wahlberg will be coming back for his role. This also means the family dynamics of the original series won’t be featured either, a major change, especially now that his character will be in a new environment. However, the show could still address these changes as the series goes on.
