Transfer to Kansas Rylan Griffen plans to travel to Kentucky.

Mark Pope and his staff are looking to round out the Kentucky Wildcats’ roster for the 2025-26 season, as they have just a few spots left on the team. With several transfers coming in, one glaring weakness at the moment seems to still be shooting. That is why the BBN got so excited about the potential addition of Lamar Wilkerson before his commitment to Indiana. Now, we have a new name to watch to potentially fill that role. According to a report by Joe Tipton of On3, Kansas Jayhawks transfer guard Rylan Griffen will visit Lexington on Tuesday. Griffen, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound wind from Dallas, began his career at Alabama before playing this last season in Lawrence. In what was a tough season for the Jayhawks all around, Griffen saw his numbers drop dramatically compared to his final season in Tuscaloosa.

A career 35% 3-point shooter over his three seasons in college basketball, Griffen fills a role that this team is missing, especially from a shooting standpoint. With a major jump coming in Nate Oats’ offense in the 2023-24 season, shooting nearly 40% from deep, Coach Pope and the staff might be thinking that is more of the norm for his game compared to this past season with Kansas.

Either way, we now have a new name to monitor as the final spots start to fill up.

Should be interesting to watch how this develops in the coming days.
