Susanna Reid sparks furious backlash as she makes huge Good Morning Britain announcement

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has been in Washington DC over the past few days covering the momentous US election.

Susanna Reid came under fire from fans as she shared an update on Good Morning Britain.

After Monday’s instalment (November 4) of the ITV programme, Susanna and co-host Ed Balls headed to Washington DC to bring GMB viewers exclusive coverage of the momentous US election.

The presenters were stationed in the US capital for three days as they followed the vote from start to finish, culminating in a historic win for Donald Trump and a devastating loss for Kamala Harris.

GOODBYE WASHINGTON DC! Thanks for watching our coverage of this historic election,” Susanna wrote. Revealing when she will return to the ITV studio, the 53-year-old added: “Back @gmb Monday!”

However, the post attracted plenty of comments from fans who raised a number of complaints.

“Why are you even there??” asked one social media user as another echoed: “To be honest I don’t understand why we need a live feed from US, we need to concentrate more in UK.”

Claiming the presenters didn’t remain impartial following Trump’s win, a third posted: “A shocking coverage by ITV.”

Another declared: “Sorry you’re both fuming but you should remain impartial,” as someone else agreed: “Terrible biased coverage.”
