Mystery as a 34-year-old British tourist disappears in Amsterdam after telling pals he left the city airport before his departure home because he forgot his passport

Dutch cops are searching for a missing British tourist who disappeared after telling his friends at the airport that he had forgotten his passport.

Ryan Jones, 34, reportedly told his pals at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol that he did not have his travel documents with him and needed to go and get them before their flights on May 4.

After walking away from the group at 2:17pm, Ryan reportedly called his friends for a short time, but since then he has not been heard from.

Police have since asked the public for information regarding his whereabouts, and have asked people to look out for ‘a large man, 6’3″ tall, possibly wearing a white baseball cap and has a tattoo on his right forearm.’ The Netherlands has seen its fair share of British travellers going missing, and these incidents can sometimes end with tragedy.  In 2023, a Brit who went missing after being dropped off at a Dutch hospital by a friend following a ‘psychotic breakdown and hallucinations’ was found dead in a ditch near the medical facility. Thomas Delafay, 20, from Plymouth, was last seen when he was dropped off by a friend at the Dijklander hospital in the city of Hoorn, 20 miles north of Amsterdam. After a search operation by Dutch police, Mr Delafay’s body was discovered in a ditch near where he was last seen, according to Dutch police on Twitter.
