
Portland police say they have seen what they call an “alarming” number of overdoses, with two deaths reported alone since 8 o’clock Thursday night as of Friday night.
So far this year, Portland police have seen 129 overdoses with six deaths.
In the same time period last year, they saw 167 overdoses and six deaths.
Police are urging Portlanders about easy access to Narcan, which can be used to reverse an opioid overdose.
Narcan is available at pharmacies, and the city’s public health department offers it for free along with training.
