Kate Martin Joins Breanna Stewart And Napheesa Collier At Unrivaled Basketball

Las Vegas Aces Kate Martin has signed with the Unrivaled Basketball 3v3 League, set to launch its inaugural season on January 17, 2025, in Miami. Martin is the 27th player to join the exclusive 30-woman roster, joining forces with league cofounders Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. Martin’s signing brings an added layer of excitement to the league’s already elite roster.

Martin played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes alongside Caitlin Clark and was drafted by the Aces in the second round (18th overall) of the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Prime-Time Exposure and Star-Studded Roster

Unrivaled has locked in a multi-year broadcasting agreement with TNT Sports, with games set to air on Mondays and Fridays on TNT, Saturdays on truTV, and streaming on Max. The league’s debut season will feature over 45 prime-time games, bringing national exposure to women’s basketball and giving fans regular access to high-stakes 3v3 action.

In addition to Martin, the roster includes powerhouse players like Las Vegas Ace’s Chelsea Gray, a six-time All-Star and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, LSU legend and NCAA Champion Angel Reese, and four-time WNBA All-Star Arike Ogunbowale.

Paige Bueckers, the UConn guard who has committed to join Unrivaled in 2026, made headlines with a landmark NIL deal that grants her equity in the league, becoming the first college athlete to hold ownership in a pro sports league.

League Of Opportunity For Kate Martin, Angel Reese

Unrivaled not only brings elite athletes together but creates a unique path for them to train, compete, and stay in the U.S. during the offseason. For years, WNBA players have supplemented their income by playing overseas, but Unrivaled’s eight-week season offers six-figure earnings stateside, reducing the need for international travel.

Reported by Sports Illustrated, Angel Reese provided a straightforward reason for her choice to join Unrivaled, “Being able to be in Miami from January to March, not having to go overseas,” Reese said. “Nobody wants to go overseas. A lot of us never wanna have to go overseas, but some people do have to go overseas unfortunately, so being able to make six figures within three months, being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better.”

The season, structured as a round-robin tournament with the top four teams advancing to playoffs, also includes a first-of-its-kind 1v1 single-elimination tournament in February to crown the world’s best one-on-one player.

With the league’s momentum and increasing public interest in women’s sports, Unrivaled stands poised to drive the sport’s growth and elevate the careers of its players, including rising star Kate Martin. By supporting athletes’ well-being, reducing travel strain, and providing an accessible, high-profile platform, Unrivaled is shaping the future of women’s basketball and setting new standards for women’s professional sports leagues worldwide.
