Hayden Travinski, the LSU fan favorite known for his powerful bat and gritty play behind the plate, has officially signed with the Houston Astros, marking the beginning of his professional baseball journey. The Shreveport native and former Airline High School standout has been assigned to the Astros’ Rookie-level affiliate in the Florida Complex League.

During his five seasons at LSU (2020–2024), Travinski appeared in 177 games, starting 119. He posted a .279 batting average with 37 home runs, 110 RBIs, and 98 runs scored. In 2023, he became the starting catcher and played a pivotal role in LSU’s National Championship run, hitting .356 with 10 homers and 30 RBIs. He was named to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament Team and the SEC All-Tournament Team in 2024, showcasing his continued development and impact on the field. 

Travinski’s signing adds depth to the Astros’ catching prospects and brings a blend of power and leadership to their organization. Fans can look forward to his progression through the minor leagues as he works towards making an impact at the major league level.
