
Fort Walton Beach scored two runs in the second inning to grab the first lead of the game after a scoreless first inning. The Vikings then added to their lead in third inning by driving in three more runs. The team would go on to score two runs in the fifth and two in the seventh. Eau Gallie got on the scoreboard in third inning with two runs and also posted two in the fifth. Evie Martin finished the game with one home run, two RBIs and two hits, and Jordan Stout also had one home run and two RBIs for the Commodores. Also for Eau Gallie, Shyla Eppert scored one run and Leah Pechart scored a run and had three hits in the game. For the Vikings, Anna Abernathy drove in two runs and scored one, Anna Beyhl had two RBIs and three hits and Meredith Miller had two runs. Fort Walton Beach will face American Heritage in the Class 4A championship game May 23. The Commodores close out a season where they put together outstanding runs throughout the year. They went undefeated against Brevard County opponents this season and won the Cape Coast Conference championship title. Eau Gallie also claimed wins the District 8-4A and Region 2-4A championship games and have a final record of 23-7.
