After renovations, the historic Miami Beach hotel reopens, and a Mediterranean restaurant will open soon.

Miami Beach, FL – storied icon of Miami Beach has reopened its doors after an extensive renovation that spanned more than a year, ushering in a new chapter for one of the city’s most beloved historic hotels. The revival project was spearheaded by a prominent New York-based design and architecture firm, whose modern vision has breathed new life into the landmark property while carefully preserving its Art Deco charm.

The hotel, originally built in the 1930s, has long been a symbol of Miami Beach’s golden era, attracting celebrities, socialites, and tourists from around the world. Over the decades, its popularity waned, and time took its toll on the structure. But thanks to a multi-million-dollar renovation, the property has emerged with a fresh, elegant aesthetic that pays homage to its past while catering to modern luxury travelers.

“We saw this as an opportunity to not only restore a beautiful piece of Miami’s history but to reimagine what it could be for the next generation,” said Daniel Rothman, lead architect and partner at the New York firm behind the project. “The goal was to retain the soul of the building — its sweeping curves, terrazzo floors, and signature neon signage — while updating the infrastructure, amenities, and interior design to meet the expectations of today’s guests.”

The renovation included a complete overhaul of the guest rooms, lobby, rooftop, and public spaces. Each of the 120 rooms has been outfitted with custom furniture, state-of-the-art technology, and thoughtful design touches that reflect Miami Beach’s vibrant culture. Original architectural elements, such as the decorative stucco and curved glass block walls, were meticulously restored to their former glory.

One of the standout features of the reimagined hotel is its rooftop pool and lounge, which now boasts panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and downtown Miami. The space includes a full-service bar, private cabanas, and a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant helmed by a rising star chef. The hotel has also partnered with local artists to curate a rotating gallery of installations throughout the property, further connecting it with the surrounding creative community.

City officials and preservationists have praised the renovation for its sensitive approach to restoration and its contribution to the cultural fabric of the Miami Beach Historic District.

“This reopening is a testament to the importance of preserving our architectural heritage while embracing the future,” said Carla Dominguez, spokesperson for the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board. “It’s an inspiring example of how historic buildings can be adapted and revitalized in a way that honors their legacy.”

The reopening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city leaders, investors, and members of the hospitality industry. The hotel is now accepting reservations and is expected to play a key role in Miami Beach’s continued appeal as a top destination for leisure and business travelers alike.

With its rich history, refreshed look, and renewed energy, the hotel is poised to reclaim its place as a cornerstone of the Miami Beach hospitality scene.
