The Kentucky Wildcats got healthier last week, and rattled off a couple of wins, including a second win versus the Tennessee Volunteers. Now, however, the injuries have struck again, and Kentucky will play their next game without two key starters.
The Wildcats released their availability report on Friday, and both Jaxson Robinson and Lamont Butler have been ruled “out” for their game against the Texas Longhorns. They’ll be short-handed once again, something they’ve dealt with a lot.
Robinson is dealing with a wrist injury currently. He hurt it in practice, but then played in their next game. However, he aggravated it, and could miss several games.
Butler has been dealing with multiple things this season, but his shoulder has been the main issue. Like Robinson, it’s not known when he will return for the Cats.
Coach Mark Pope seemed to hint that they could be out at least a few weeks. Hopefully it doesn’t stretch into March. Both players are key to Kentucky’s success this season, and their absence would hinder their NCAA Tournament chances.
