West Virginia Signs 6-foot-8 Forward Haris Elezovic
West Virginia basketball has added 6-foot-8 forward Haris Elezovic to the team, the program announced on Thursday afternoon. Elezovic most recently played for the University of Laval in Quebec, Canada.
“We are excited to welcome Haris to our basketball program,” WVU HC Darian DeVries said. “Haris will bring great versatility and another veteran presence to our front court. We are looking forward to integrating Haris to our team and West Virginia University.”
While at Laval, Elezovic played in 24 games over his one season. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native averaged 12.2 points and 10.3 rebounds in 29.4 minutes. Elezovic recorded eight double-doubles this past year. Prior to Laval, Elezovic played at McGill University and Vanier College.
Elezovic will be entering his senior year with the Mountaineers.
During the spring, West Virginia’s staff dove right into the transfer portal, landing Tucker DeVries (G – Drake), Sencire Harris (G – Illinois), Amani Hansberry (F – Illinois), Toby Okani (F – UIC), Eduardo Andre (C – Fresno State), Javon Small (G – Oklahoma State), Joseph Yesufu (G – Washington State) and Jayden Stone (G – Detroit Mercy). Scholarship freshmen Jonathan Powell (G) and KJ Tenner (G) committed to Darian DeVries’ staff out of high school. WVU’s staff also brought in Jake Auer (G) and Dylan Jay (G) this offseason.
WVU F Ofri Naveh is the only returning player from last season’s team.
West Virginia also secured a commitment from 2024 center Abraham Oyeadier on Thursday. Oyeadier is a 6-foot-9 recruit from California.
