Tony Vitello and Christian Moore Turn the Lookouts AT&T Field Into Rocky Top South
What do you get when you cross the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Rocket City Trash Pandas?
Apparently Rocky Top South.
That’s what it felt like Tuesday at AT&T Field as a couple of popular Vols stars were in the house.
Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello threw out the ceremonial first pitch. He of course led the Vols to the national title in June.
He was in town to support one of his former players in Christian Moore. Moore is a member of the Trash Pandas. He was batting a sizzling .543 coming into Tuesday’s game. He cooled off just a bit going 0-for-3 on the night with a pair of strikeouts and a walk.
The Lookouts won the game 4-0. Francisco Urbaez had three RBI’s for Chattanooga, including a two run double in the third inning.
Moore played some high school baseball at Baylor, so it felt like a homecoming for Moore to be back in the Scenic City.
Said Moore:”Playing against McCallie. Football, basketball, and baseball. That was crazy always. The city of Chattanooga always went kind of crazy for that for those rivalry games. That was definitely fun. That was kind of first taste of a big atmosphere and playing in front of a lot of people for the first time.”
