COLUMBUS, Ohio — A defining moment of Ohio State’s run in the 2024 College Football Playoff came at the Rose Bowl where the Buckeyes steamrolled through Oregon en route to a quarterfinal victory.
That defeat handed coach Dan Lanning some “medicine,” as he said while appearing on Bussin’ With The Boys.
The Ducks defeated the Buckeyes in an October meeting, hanging on for a 32-31 win. However, in the December rematch, Ohio State dominated. Coach Ryan Day’s squad jumped out to a 34-0 lead in the first half, delivering an immediate blow to an Oregon team that hadn’t played in more than three weeks. The loss also handed Lanning a lesson as he enters his fourth season with the Ducks. “There are things that they did in that game that we didn’t prepare our players well for,” Lanning said. “That’s the part — can you take the medicine? Can you figure out what didn’t go right? … If you’re motivated the right way, those moments are growth moments.” Lanning was asked if he has any distaste for Michigan after the Wolverines’ November win vs. Ohio State seemingly ignited the Buckeyes’ postseason run. “I blame Oregon,” Lanning said. “We didn’t take care of business.” Ohio State women’s basketball lands elite shooter Ohio State women’s basketball landed a commitment from guard T’yana Todd on Tuesday. She spent the last three seasons at Boston College where she appeared in 87 games with 72 starts.
As a junior during the 2024-25 season, Todd averaged 13.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Her greatest strength came from beyond the 3-point line where she shot 45.9% — ranking fourth in the country.
Todd is a native of Canada who attended IMG Academy in Florida.
