MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. Police have released new details on the person arrested after a Saturday standoff in Myrtle Beach.
Myrtle Beach Police Department spokesperson Randolph Angotti identified the person as 44-year-old Dale McTaggart.
Jail records show McTaggart is charged with armed robbery, assault while resisting arrest and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Arrest warrants for McTaggart state that officers responded to the Lazy G Motel and Apartment at 405 27th Avenue North for an armed robbery.
While armed with two knives, McTaggart lunged at the victim and tried to take their cigarettes, according to the arrest warrants.
Police said McTaggart barricaded himself in the building before being taken into custody.
The warrants alleged that McTaggart later kicked an officer not in uniform in the right side of his abdomen as police walked him into a hospital for jail clearance.
