Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello has found himself in quite a pickle thanks to winning a national championship.
It’s a good thing that Tennessee Vols baseball coach Tony Vitello recently received a lucrative contract extension from UT, because the freshly minted national champion might have to part with some cash because of a statement he made a couple of years ago.
A little over two years ago, Vitello appeared on “Bussin with the Boys” with Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. During that appearance, Vitello told Compton and Lewan that he would (hypothetically) donate his salary to “Bussin with the Boys” for a national championship.
“For a national championship, I would do that (donate salary),” said Vitello.
On Monday, the official “Bussin with the Boys” Twitter account posted a video of Lewan, Compton, Vitello, and Peyton Manning discussing Vitello’s comment about donating his salary.
Let’s just say that Compton and Lewan didn’t forget about the (hypothetical) promise from Vitello.
I think the best part of that video is Peyton saying “the new salary or the previous one, he’ll donate the previous one”.
I doubt Vitello is going to be donating a large chunk of his salary to the boys, but he’ll make something work. Vitello’s a good sport about that kind of stuff. And so are Compton and Lewan.
While we don’t know how they’ll work it out, we do know that whatever is worked out between the guys will almost certainly make for some more fantastic Tony V content.
