Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabby Thomas come together for iconic New Balance commercial
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabby Thomas are two of America’s most dominant track athletes of this generation. Recently, the duo came together for a New Balance commercial, leaving fans in awe of their talents away from the track.
Both McLaughlin-Levrone and Thomas have been with New Balance since 2018, when they were still competing on the collegiate circuit. They were two of the most promising athletes of the NCAA, and have since gone on to dominate at the international stage, with the former breaking multiple world records, while the latter holds the one of the fastest 200m timings in the history of the sport.
Most recently, New Balance brought together their two big stars for an iconic commercial, leaving fans delighted. The video features the Americans running and posing for the camera, and even has an off-camera baton pass. Watch the commercial below:
Over the years, both Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabby Thomas have spoken positively about New Balance.
At the time of her signing, the 400m hurdler called it the ‘perfect partner for me’ in a press release, saying,

I’m thrilled to join the Team New Balance family, a brand that not only shares the same values and principles that are important to me but also supports its athletes on and off the track.”
Thomas echoed similar sentiments when she signed with the brand, saying:
“Joining Team New Balance is exciting for me, because I’ve been wearing their spikes for so many years now. I am excited to continue to try out their innovative product and work with their product teams to develop their sprint spikes, training shoes and even apparel.”
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabby Thomas nominated for 2024 Women’s Track Athlete of the Year
Both Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Gabby Thomas have seen incredible levels of success in 2024. Credit to their performances, the two Americans are now nominated for the 2024 Women’s Track Athlete of the Year award.
McLaughlin-Levrone began her season in May, going undefeated in all her individual races, despite racing distances outside of her speciality event.
The American’s first big moment of 2024 came at the U.S Olympic Trials, where she beat her own world record in the 400m hurdles to become the first woman to dip under the 51 second mark.
She then successfully defended her Olympic crown at the Paris Games, setting a new world record of 50.37s while doing so.
Meanwhile, Gabby Thomas has had an equally phenomenal year, and was the most successful track athlete at the Paris Olympics, winning three gold medals. She won gold in the 200m event before helping Team USA to the win in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
