S. Jimmie Ward and LB Azeez Al-Shaair are still not practicing.
When the Texans played the Packers on Sunday, they were without five of their defensive starters. One of those is still suspended, and the other two are not returning to practice. Safety Jimmie Ward (groin) and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. Al-Shaair missed Sunday’s game, and Ward has missed the last two. The defensive end Mario Edwards was suspended for four games for using performance-enhancing drugs, but he has only played one of those games. Additionally, on Wednesday, receivers Robert Woods (foot) and Steven Sims (back) did not practice. Linebacker Henry To’oTo’o (concussion), defensive end Will Anderson (chest), defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi (shoulder), cornerback Kamari Lassiter (shoulder), and left tackle Laremy Tunsil (ankle) were all sidelined. Due to their ailments, To’oTo’o and Lassiter were unable to play in Week 7, but they are on track to make a comeback this week.
