Pleasant, mostly sunny weather in the Bronx
Temperatures will be on the rise today after a chilly start for some. Under clear skies, temperatures dropped down to frosty levels in spots, but through the day, a nice and pleasant feeling will be felt with daytime highs getting towards normal levels for this time of the year. It will be a rather classic cool and crisp Autumn Day!
There will be a rise in temperatures through the mid-week with a low to no shower chance. As we go from Election Day to Wednesday, expect to see people walking around in short sleeves and perhaps shorts during the day. There will be a chance to see record warmth Wednesday. After that though, temperatures will be cooling down, but just going down to normal levels for this time of year.
The lack of rain may seem nice and pleasant for daily outdoor activities, but the vegetation is hurting. The drought that has unfolded across the region has stressed the trees, making them display fall foliage colors that are less vibrant and rapidly aging. A lot of trees have already started shedding their leaves for the season. The grass is brown, and the water table is starting to run low. Bottom line.
We need rain, and soon, or the drought situation will only get worse.
