Oprah and Other Special Guests Headlined Harris’s Final Rallies

“We’re voting for values and integrity,” Oprah said before introducing the Vice President. “We’re voting for healing over hate.”

Election Day is hours away, and Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz are pulling out all the stops to energize voters, especially in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. On Election Eve, they hosted two major rallies there and summoned a star-studded array of musical performances and special guests—including Oprah herself.

VP Harris’s rally tonight in Philadelphia, set against the iconic backdrop of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and live-streamed in tandem with other rallies across the country, convened an all-star lineup of musical artists, including (though not limited to!) Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and the Roots. Oprah spoke at the event alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fat Joe, building on the momentum of her oft-repeated “We’re not going back” de facto Harris-Walz campaign slogan.

Oprah spoke directly after Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and had the chance to introduce Harris with the help of will.i.am. Oprah initially appeared on stage with ten first-time voters, who then shared the various reasons they were supporting Harris.

Oprah then called back to John F. Kennedy’s iconic 1961 speech

“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”—before imploring those who hadn’t yet voted yet to do so on Election Day. “We don’t get to sit this one out,” Oprah said. “Deciding not to decide… that is most definitely a vote to let other people control your future.”

“We’re voting for values and integrity,” Oprah added towards the end of the impassioned speech, just before introducing Harris. “We’re voting for healing over hate.”

Both events are part of a broader effort to mobilize support across the seven battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The Harris-Walz campaign live-streamed each of the rallies to engage more voters and allow virtual participation across the country. Harris has been actively campaigning in these swing states, including holding rallies in Wisconsin and Atlanta that featured performances by artists like Bruce Springsteen, Mumford & Sons, and Cardi B.
