Miikka Muurinen rescheduling visit to Kentucky; Mark Pope visiting for pro day
The Kentucky Wildcats have been working nonstop in Mark Pope’s first season as head coach.
Pope and his team have worked incredibly hard to expand their recruiting pool since arriving in Lexington.
The Wildcats have been in contact with 2026 power forward Miikka Muurinen
Who was scheduled to visit on September 13th.
Muurinen has since canceled that visit, but he’s now planning to reschedule it, according to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck.
A big reason why he canceled it was that Kentucky will host 5-star forward Caleb Wilson that same weekend, so it didn’t make sense to have two big-time recruits like that taking official visits at the same time.
Muurinen is currently the No. 1 power forward in his class and the 10th-best recruit, according to On3.
The 6-foot-10 Arizona high school star is still expected to visit schools like Utah and Duke this month. In addition, Kentucky plans to watch Muurinen this week at AZ Compass Prep’s pro day.
