Angel Reese has a few days off before returning to action with the Chicago Sky on Friday against the Connecticut Sun. She was seemingly watching Day 2 of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The Sky sensation weighed in on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s fiery speech about Donald Trump.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Reese felt what Obama said in her DNC speech in support of Kamala Harris. The former First Lady also took shots at Trump, the Republican candidate, less than a day after Steve Kerr had told him “night, night.”
“MICHELLE SAID WHAT SHE SAID,” Reese tweeted.
It’s not an official endorsement by Angel Reese, but one of her close friends Megan Thee Stallion will be supporting Kamala Harris’ candidacy. Reese is one of the most popular WNBA players right now, so her voice could make some impact in case she wants to use it.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama was one of several speakers on Day 2 of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She was joined by her husband and former POTUS Barack Obama. The couple officially endorsed Kamala Harris as president, which was not a surprise.
So, what did Michelle say during her speech that got people like Angel Reese talking and tweeting on social media? Well, the 60-year-old lawyer had some choice words for Donald Trump.
“America, hope is making a comeback. When they go low, we go high. … His limited and narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hardworking, highly educated, successful people who also happened to be Black. … Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those ‘Black jobs?'” Michelle said.
Angel Reese has set records this season with her double-doubles. She’s getting closer to breaking Tina Charles’ record for most double-doubles by a rookie in a season. Charles’ record is 23, and Reese just needs four more to take it from the Atlanta Dream center.
However, Reese told reporters after her team’s 18-point loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday that she doesn’t care about individual records. She’s more concerned about helping the Chicago Sky make the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season.
The Sky remain in eighth place after Sunday night, with a 11-16 record. They have 1.5 games ahead of the Atlanta Dream for the final playoff spot but need to start winning games. They are 1-2 in the second half of the regular season, while the Dream have won two in a row.
