On Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team will face off in a rematch with the Alabama Crimson Tide, currently ranked fourth in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. The Tide won their first matchup in a close one, 102-97.
Kentucky is coming off a good win and a terrific defensive effort against Vanderbilt. However, injuries have been an issue over their recent stretch of games, and it will continue against Bama, as the availability report on Friday says they’ll still be without some key players.
Lamont Butler has been the engine that makes the Wildcats go for most of the year. They have won without him, but his absence hurts. His defense and steady hand leading the offense are a big part of their early successes.
Jaxson Robinson is dealing with a wrist injury, and will also miss the game. He has made a number of big shots for the Cats this season, and is capable of scoring in bunches.
Alabama presents a challenge for Kentucky’s defense, as they can drop 100 points on any given night. Being short-handed only adds to the difficulty.
