“I can’t sing, really can’t dance” – Gabby Thomas lists things that are harder than sprinting for her
Gabby Thomas recently got candid about the activities where she struggles. The American sprinter is not just known for her exploits in track and field but also for her academic excellence.
In track and field, Thomas has won five Olympic medals, including three gold, one silver, and one bronze, and is a two-time World Championships medalist.
Thomas also earned a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology and global health from Harvard University in 2019. She then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she completed her master’s degree in epidemiology.
However, in a recent interview with HuffPost, Gabby Thomas opened up about not being great at everything. During the interaction, she discussed the activities that she finds harder than sprinting, stating:
“I definitely don’t have it all. I could list off so many things I can’t do. I can’t sing.”
“I really really can’t dance,” she added.
The track star also said that she struggles with swimming.
Although Thomas struggles in the aforementioned activities, she stood out at the 2024 Paris Olympics where she achieved three gold medals, winning the 200m and playing an instrumental role in the USA’s women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams’ victories.
Before claiming the gold medals at the quadrennial Games, she also achieved success as a member of the USA women’s relay teams at the 2024 World Athletics Relays. Both the nation’s 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams bagged the gold in the event with times of 41.85s and 3:21.70s.
Following her remarkable 2024 season, Thomas has been nominated for the Female Track Athlete of the Year award.
