HURRAY!!! Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone celebrates birthday with husband Andre Levrone in Greece
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently celebrated her 25th birthday on August 7, a day before she broke her 400m hurdles world record at the Paris Olympics 2024. Following the gold medal win on August 8, the Olympic champion went on a trip to Greece with husband Andre Levrone.
McLaughlin-Levrone first broke the 400m hurdles world record at the 2021 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials. She has broken the record twice each year except 2023, where she didn’t race the hurdles in the entire season.
The 25-year-old lowered the record to 50.65s at the Olympic Trials in June before running a blistering 50.37s at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The world champion was the favorite entering the 400m hurdles final but Netherland’s Femke Bol, who’s the second fastest in history, offered a real threat.
However, the Dutch runner couldn’t break the 52-second barrier while McLaughlin-Lervone ran away with the gold medal in 50.37s.
After winning the 400m hurdles title, Sydney McLaughlin-Lervone led the USA 4x400m relay team to another gold medal.
To celebrate the double gold medal victory and her birthday, the 25-year-old took a trip to Greece with husband Andre Levrone.
“8 days late but who’s counting…25,” she captioned post on Instagram.
McLaughlin-Lervone shared glimpses from their trip in a series of pictures on Instagram, donning a stunning white top while Andre, who is a former NFL player, was wearing black.
The two met via Instagram and exchanged the engagement rings in 2021, before tying the knot nine months later in 2022.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone reveals story behind the crown she wore at the Paris Olympics 2024
After she won the 400m hurdles title at the Paris Olympics 2024, a woman was spotted putting a crown on the head of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
After the world record holder’s pictures with the tiara went viral over the internet, the 25-year-old claimed that it was given to her by her sister-in-law.
“My sister-in-law gave me this. She told me months ago that she was going to bring it. After the race, she would give it to me, so I’m sporting this for her,” she told the reporter with a smile
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has now won four Olympic gold medals. With three world titles and a world record that she continues to break every year, she is arguably the greatest 400m hurdles runner in history.
