Happy Big Blue Birthday to Ron Kennett (#50).
Ron was a multi-sport athlete at the University of Kentucky. He played both baseball, as well as basketball for the Cats.
In 2020, Ron was inducted into the Lawrenceburg High School Hall of Fame, in Indiana. In high school Ron was First Team All-State in both baseball & basketball, and his senior year (1961), he excelled at Track as well.
Ron was offered a contract by the Pittsburg Pirates, but decided to attend the University of Kentucky, and play both baseball, as well as basketball.
He lettered all four years at UK, and was a member of the (1963-64) #1 ranked Wildcats.
Later he would go on to coach both baseball & basketball in high school, as well as college, in both Georgia, and Florida. He would however return to Indiana to coach baseball at Milan High School. He is now retired, and living in Florida.
