First career touchdown for Marvin Harrison Jr., and even better on his second…
In Week 2, the rookie wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals showed off his skills against the Los Angeles Rams, grabbing two touchdowns that were entertaining to watch repeatedly.
After the Rams failed to convert on fourth down, the Cardinals took over on offense as Kyler Murray found his star receiver on a 60-yard drive. He dropped back and threw the ball to Harrison Jr., who made an impressive play with an over-the-shoulder catch to haul in a 23-yard touchdown catch.
The play would be reviewed but there was nothing to worry, as the touchdown call was confirmed. This would mark Harrison Jr.’s first career touchdown.
But Harrison Jr. was not done. Murray scrambled on the Cardinals’ third drive after going three and out. He eventually found Harrison Jr. on a 60-yard bomb, connecting on another touchdown play to give the Cardinals an early 14-0 lead. Harrison Jr. also had a 15-yard reception and a 32-yard catch to finish the first quarter.
The Cardinals selected Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State with the No. 4 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to give Murray another considerable weapon on offense.
Harrison Jr. was hyped up as a generational prospect ahead of the draft, as he proved to be an exceptional talent during his time with the Buckeyes. Harrison Jr., of course, comes from incredible pedigree. His father, the Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison Sr., is regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history.
Harrison Jr. got off to a slow start in a Week 1 performance against the Buffalo Bills, in which he only recorded four yards receiving and no touchdowns.
The Bills would pick up a 34-28 victory in a nail bitter.
Harrison Jr. followed his Week 1 performance by quieting any doubters with two magnificent touchdowns in the first half against the Rams.
It is safe to say that the talented receiver has found his footing here in Week 2.
