Every player in OKC Thunder history who has worn No. 37
It’s summertime in the NBA, so the ample free time is a perfect opportunity to reflect and learn about the league’s history. While the Oklahoma City Thunder are a relatively fresh franchise, they technically share history with the Seattle Supersonics.
The Sonics’ first season dates back to 1967. The Thunder’s first season was in 2008. This type of longevity has allowed several players to wear almost every jersey number available.
Amid boredom, Thunder Wire will look back at all 51 jersey numbers worn, spanning from 00 to 97. This exercise will include the Sonics’ history. Let’s look at the one player who donned the No. 37 jersey during their time with the franchise:
Derek Fisher, 2012
Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Derek Fisher (37) talks to an official during the second quarter of game two in the 2012 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
A late addition, Fisher brought a veteran presence to the Thunder. He spent his last three seasons in OKC as a bench player. When he first arrived, he wore No. 37 to reflect his age.
He was part of the Thunder’s 2012 NBA Finals run. He averaged five points in 125 career games in OKC.
