Dolly Parton opens Pirates Voyage on Panama City Beach on the first night.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. Country music legend Dolly Parton made a splash at the grand opening of her newest Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show in Panama City Beach Thursday.

It was all hands on deck as the 60,000 square foot theatre officially opened its doors.

The first round of shows launched a week ago in preparation for Thursday’s event and have already proven to be a big hit.

“The reaction from everybody here in Panama City Beach to even our soft opening, kind of our dress rehearsals before dolly came to open us, just have been incredible,” so heartwarming to be part of this community in Panama City Beach, it was welcoming from day one, but the reaction and just the love for all things dolly and pirates. Wow. We’ve had such a great grand opening,” Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show PR Manager Ellen Liston said.

It’s the third Pirates voyage location, and Dolly Parton was there to kick off the first official show. “You have fun, just know I love you, I will always love you, and thank you so much,” Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show Founder Dolly Parton said. With the opening, shows will continue through summer and beyond. The interactive show features dozens of performers from aerialists to acrobats, sea battles, a sea lion special appearance, and mermaids, all of which you can experience while enjoying a four-course pirate feast. Officials are excited to bring something new to the local entertainment scene. “When you say Dolly Parton, you expect something great in terms of entertainment and music, and you kind of expect things to be a little over the top, more than you might see somewhere else. And that Dolly is definitely the one when you show, and there’s even a little bit of Dolly’s music in the show. Fittingly, it’s part of the mermaid act, and I think people are going to love that little touch of music from Dolly,” Liston said.

Robert Plant cried — no one saw it coming.  When Heart took the stage in 2012 to perform “Stairway to Heaven,” they didn’t just sing a song — they shattered the internet and broke the heart of a rock legend (in the best possible way). With Led Zeppelin watching from the audience, Ann and Nancy Wilson delivered a cover so powerful, so emotional, that Plant, the man who wrote the song, was visibly moved to tears by the final notes. Now sitting at nearly 200 million views, this moment still hits like a wave, proving that real music, real emotion, and real connection never go out of style….
