Charlotte Hawkins issues major GMB announcement as fans all say same thing.
ITV star Charlotte Hawkins has made a shock announcement – that any discussion of politics is completely banned today.
Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins announced that “election day is finally here” – but then astonished fans by revealing that any discussion of it is completely off the table until tomorrow.
She penned on Instagram: “The calm before the storm… Election Day is finally here! So we can’t talk about politics on @gmb due to broadcasting rules…” The election will be the talk of the town today as polling day has arrived, with early indications suggesting that Labour could “wipe out” the Tories with a “super-majority”.
Therefore some fans were puzzled that the tense moment is something that can’t be discussed until voting closes. However, Charlotte added: “We are counting down to our election special this time tomorrow morning from 6am. Use your vote today & don’t forget ID!”
One aghast fan quizzed: “What do you mean? You talk about politics every day!” However, Charlotte adamantly shot back: “Not today!”
“That’s a bizarre rule? It’s the one day we should be talking politics :),” a second viewer chimed in. Others wished her a happy Independence Day, as the American celebrations take place on British voting day.
