The Schloss Hotel Zermatt, which has been owner-managed since 1984, caused a worldwide sensation in 2020 with the opening of the first CBD spa in Europe. This was followed by an ongoing repositioning with a focus on sport and wellbeing; the SCHLOSS became an activity and wellness hotel.
The year 2024 is now all about giving the lifestyle hotel a completely new look.
This includes not only the renovation of the lobby, breakfast room and all rooms, but also a complete rebranding including a name change to “SCHLOSS Zermatt”.
With its “stay active. stay well” philosophy and the opening of Switzerland’s first CBD spa, the former SchlossHotel in Zermatt has established itself beyond the country’s borders.

As part of its repositioning strategy from a bed & breakfast to an active and wellness hotel, the hotel continued to pursue its vision of doing something for guests’ joie de vivre and increasing their well-being in a sustainable and carefree way.
They should be given the opportunity not only to relax, regenerate and exercise at the hotel, but also to find their own FLOW. The health and fitness courses, biohacking workshops and sessions in nature are all centred around your own well-being and mental and physical health.
Joie de vivre, balance and lifestyle Fabian Messer, brand and strategy manager at SCHLOSS Zermatt, describes the vision of developing the hotel as a whole as follows: “We didn’t want to be satisfied with just renovating the lobby, the breakfast room and the rooms.
Our aim was to further advance the positioning of SCHLOSS Zermatt for an active and wellness-orientated audience and at the same time to design the brand in line with this positioning. The entire appearance is now fresh, young and dynamic.”
