Blue Bloods Family Suffers Tragic Loss Ahead of Finale Season Premiere: ‘I Will Forever Miss Your Voice’
Veteran actor Ed Wheeler, who has appeared in many TV shows and movies, as well as on stage, has died at age 88.
Wheeler guest starred in six episodes of Law & Order as different characters and appeared on Third Watch and New York Undercover. His final onscreen role was in 2010 during Blue Bloods’ first season.
Wheeler’s wife, Messeret Stroman Wheeler, told Deadline that the actor died on August 21 at a New Jersey hospital of respiratory failure due to pneumonia complications.
“His life was a testament to perseverance, creativity, and the power of generosity and kindness,” she shared in a statement. “Ed will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.”
On October 7, his wife posted a tribute on Instagram, writing: “With a Heavy Heart, I Share My Ed’s Passing.
