Ayesha and Steph Curry Make a Declaration…
Guard for the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, is about to begin his 16th NBA season. Curry, who was chosen by Golden State with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, has grown into one of the best players in league history.
Curry recently led Team USA in scoring at the 2024 Paris Olympics and added a gold medal to his extensive list of basketball achievements. Now an Olympic gold medalist, Curry has four NBA championships, two league MVP awards, 10 All-Star and All-NBA selections, a Finals MVP award and more.
Throughout his rise to superstardom, Curry has had his wife, Ayesha Curry, alongside him. The couple met in their teenage years before getting married in 2011.
Steph and Ayesha launched the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in 2019. The nonprofit organization is focused on giving children access to meals, learning resources and more.
In an announcement on Monday, the couple shared via their Eat. Learn. Play. Instagram page that they are partnering with MasterClass to gift 16,000 memberships to Oakland and San Francisco Unified School District educators.
The announcement includes a video from Steph that details what this partnership entails.
“It’s national literacy month, and we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank teachers for the critical role they play in helping our students learn, grown and improve their skills,” Steph Curry said.
Praising educators for their resilience amid recent challenges, he added, “Ayesha and I, along with our Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, are excited to announce we are once again teaming up with MasterClass to celebrate all teachers, educators and administrator staff in Oakland and San Francisco Public schools.”
The MasterClass website includes a description of the services the Curry family will be gifting educators.
“MasterClass is the streaming platform that makes it possible for anyone to watch or listen to hundreds of video lessons taught by 200+ of the world’s best,” the website states. “Whether it be in business and leadership, photography, cooking, writing, acting, music, sports and more, MasterClass delivers a world class online learning experience.”
Steph and Ayesha, through their foundation, have announced free memberships for educators in the area they have called home for more than a decade.
