Average NASCAR driver: Phoenix Raceway’s Hendrick Motorsports….

CONCORD, N.C. – Having been the host venue for the NASCAR Cup Series championship race since 2020, never has success at Phoenix Raceway been more imperative than in recent years.

Thankfully for William Byron, who is one of this weekend’s Championship 4, as well as the rest of the Hendrick Motorsports driver lineup, success in the desert has become second nature for NASCAR’s most decorated organization.

As was the case last week at Martinsville Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports leads in nearly all statistical categories at Phoenix. In 56 events, drivers have combined to win 13 races for the company, spearheaded by four victories for seven-time Cup champ Jimmie Johnson. In addition to claiming the most checkered flags, Hendrick Motorsports has also piled up the most poles (15), top-10 finishes (102), top fives (56) and laps led (3,530).

Byron has already scored a victory at Phoenix and with another this Sunday, would claim his first series title. Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott have each also won at the 1-mile tri-oval and in the process, won championships as well.

Here’s a look at how the four active Hendrick Motorsports drivers have fared at Phoenix as well as a quick brush up on Hendrick Motorsports history.
