Angel Reese made sure to clarify her rivalry with Kamilla Cardoso before arriving at the WNBA

Since she was in college basketball, Angel Reese has distinguished herself by her competitive nature. The Chicago Sky forward always plays with intensity, and that often generates friction with her rivals.
However, the player also has great sportsmanship, as she demonstrated with Kamilla Cardoso.
Reese and Cardoso had some intense duels during their time in the NCAA. In the last one, in March 2024, a hair pull by Reese to Cardoso led to a pitched battle between the LSU Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The incident between Reese and Cardoso was not the immediate cause of the fight, but it did contribute to the tempers heating up before the fight.
It took the referees nearly 20 minutes to calm things down, and the game ended with a 79-72 victory for Cardoso’s South Carolina on its way to the NCAA title.
