Alex Eala must defeat his Bulgarian opponent before facing Iga Swiatek at the Madrid Open.

World no. 72 Alex Eala may face world no. 2 Iga Swiatek again, this time in the Madrid Open which will run from April 21 to May 4 at the Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain.

Eala has been drawn to the same bracket as Swiatek, with the latter earning a bye and will make her debut at the Round of 64.

The Filipino tennis ace, however, will have to win against world no. 64 Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria first in the Round of 128. Their match will be held on Tuesday afternoon.

Eala and Swiatek previously faced off in the Miami Open where the 19-year old pulled off an upset against the latter in the quarterfinals.

Eala’s dream run, however, ended as she fell to Jessica Pegula in the semis of the said tournament.
