A Lakers player gives Anthony Davis a one-word message

Dallas Mavericks power forward Anthony Davis is entering a new chapter of his NBA career. Traded from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Luka Doncic, the 10-time NBA All-Star had an impressive debut in Dallas before being sidelined for multiple weeks due to injury.

On Sunday, the Mavericks star officially premiered his docu-style unscripted comedy series, Foul Play with Anthony Davis.

The half-hour show, which aired on TBS following Sunday night’s All-Star game, was first announced on Jan. 27 via a post on TBS’ official X account. The teaser clip featured fellow athletes such as WNBA star Cameron Brink and Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell, offering fans a sneak peek at Davis’ pranking abilities.

“Most people don’t know, but I have a passion for pranks,” Davis said in another promotional teaser for the show. “Whether it’s pranking my teammates or friends and family, I love making people laugh and doing whatever it takes to bring some joy and fun to the situation.”

Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who is also set to appear in the series, reacted to the premiere by posting a photo of himself and Davis on his Instagram story with a simple one-word caption:

Davis and Vanderbilt were teammates for three seasons until Davis was traded to the Mavericks in the stunning blockbuster deal that sent Doncic to the Lakers.

During his time in LA, Davis helped the Lakers capture the 2020 NBA Championship and reach the Western Conference Finals in 2023. The 10x All-Star also averaged 24.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 312 games for the Lakers (via StatMuse).

Currently, Davis is recovering from an adductor strain he suffered during his debut game with the Mavericks against the Houston Rockets. He is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks (via Shams Charania).
