After signing a 10-year, $341 million contract with the New York Mets in April of 2021, Francisco Lindor has become the leader of an up-and-coming team in Queens. He has maintained his elite level of play from his time in Cleveland, and he was the runner-up in National League Most Valuable Player voting last season.

His efforts propelled the Mets to the NLCS last season. And while they would come up short against the eventual champions, it was a great sign of things to come in New York. New York has maintained that momentum to begin the 2025 season, and Lindor is no small part of that.

Lindor’s professionalism has caught the eye of his teammates. In an article written by USA Today’s Gabe Lacques, Mets star Pete Alonso detailed what makes his teammate so special. “That’s the miraculous thing – there’s no secret formula with him, no secret anything,” Alonso said. “His superpower is his consistency. It’s hard work, it’s dedication, and him willing to show up every day and have the internal drive to be the best player he can be every single day.” Lindor’s consistency has paid dividends for the Mets so far this season. The Four-time All-Star has gotten off to a great start, entering Tuesday slashing .304/.367/.473 for a .840 OPS. His OPS is almost identical to his .844 mark from last season. He also hit his sixth home run of the season in Tuesday’s game.
