Investigating Maine: Inside the Observatory and Penobscot Narrows Bridge…

Maine’s stunning Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory is the world’s tallest public bridge and observatory, and one of just four like it in the world (the others are in China, Bangkok and Thailand).

In this episode of the Chasing Maine video series, Roger McCord takes a unique look at this incredible example of design and engineering built in just 42 months by two Maine construction firms.

“The Amazing, Stupendous (slightly scary) Bridge” includes a trip inside the bridge’s underside tunnel – a feature unseen by most people, and a view usually reserved for inspectors and engineers.
