NETFLIX: Jeff Lynne’s Farewell Music Concert for ELO Plot

NETFLIX: Jeff Lynne’s Farewell Music Concert for ELO Plot…

Jeff Lynne, the founding member of the Electric Light Orchestra, has announced the final performance of his own Jeff Lynne’s ELO, following a 55-year career with the group and its different incarnations. The farewell concert, which will be part of BST Summertime, is scheduled on July 13, 2025, in London’s Hyde Park. More performers will be announced soon. The Over and Out Tour, which comes to an end this week, will also end on the midsummer event.

While Electric Light Orchestra originally disbanded in 1986 after over 15 years together, Roy Wood and Bev Bevan returned to the band for a second wind in the 2000s, following Lynne’s time with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison in the supergroup Traveling Wilburys. Though Lynne is the sole original member in the latest iteration, the farewell staging will honor the band’s Birmingham origins by returning to England for its last hurrah.

Also, as he initially returned to the stage as Jeff Lynne’s ELO in 2014 with a show at Hyde Park, Lynne explained that it felt “the perfect place” to perform the last show. “Hosting their final performance at BST Hyde Park is a true honor,” said Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, “especially 30 years after their first festival show in the same park. We’re excited to be part of this special moment in music history.” “As the song goes,” Lynne joked via social media, “we’re gonna do it One More Time!’” alluding to the 2019 track.

Tickets for the farewell concert wil go on sale for the general public on Oct. 25 at 9:00 a.m. GMT. In the meantime, fans can catch Jeff Lynne’s ELO on tour tonight, Oct. 23, at Sacramento, Calif.’s Golden 1 Center, at the Kia Forum on Oct. 25 or 26, as well as Phoenix’s Footprint Center on Oct. 29.
