Check out Ja Morant’s new Ja 2 “Tree Topper” PE sneakers before the team’s decisive victory over the Pelicans.
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies took on the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA Cup matchup on Friday night. The Grizzlies won the game in dominant fashion as they secured a 120-109 triumph. Morant led his team to victory with a huge 27-point outing.
Prior to the game’s commencement, Morant unveiled his new signature Ja 2. During the pregame warmups, the Grizzlies star was spotted shooting out with a Player Edition Ja 2 called “Tree Topper.” It’s an alternate version of his signature Christmas PEs.
However, come the game proper, Ja Morant switched shoes and wore another colorway of his signature shoes.

The Grizzlies star reportedly calls the colorway he wore on Friday the Ja 2 “720”. This was because Morant wore the colorway for the first time when he hit two 360-degree layups against the Brooklyn Nets earlier this November.
Ja Morant detonates for alley-oop in 720s vs Pelicans
Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies managed to come up with their first NBA Cup win when they dominated the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. Morant, as expected, took care of business for his team.
While wearing his 720s, the high-flying point guard stunned the fans in attendance when he went up for an alley-oop slam in the third quarter.
Aside from his gravity-defying display, his overall performance is what carried his team to triumph. Morant added 27 points, seven assists and three steals to help the Grizzlies get the win.
With the explosive guard now back in the lineup, hopefully, injuries won’t get in the way again. So far Morant has missed half of the games they’ve played primarily due to a hip injury.
While Ja Morant was a major reason for the Memphis win, there’s no denying the solid effort Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama put in to help their point guard.
Jackson Jr. had an all-around performance, displaying both offense and defense, adding 23 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Aldama, on the other hand, also had a well-rounded outing with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Memphis Grizzlies’ win against the New Orleans Pelicans improves their record to 13-7. They remain in fourth place in the Western Conference and are now on a five-game winning streak.
Their next opponents are the Indiana Pacers, who are also on a three-game winning streak. It’ll be an interesting matchup to see which team’s hot streak will be snapped.
