Nikola Jokić: Lou Williams Stirs Debate: Karl-Anthony Towns ‘More Skilled’ Than Nikola Jokić

Nikola Jokić: Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić continues to dominate early in the season, but a new debate has sparked across the NBA world. Former player Lou Williams recently shared a surprising take, claiming Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns is more skilled than the reigning Finals MVP. Williams, speaking on FanDuel’s Run it Back, argued, “Is KAT a more skilled guy? Absolutely. [But] I think Jokić is more impactful.”

Williams emphasized Jokić’s game-changing influence, highlighting how the Nuggets superstar facilitates his teammates’ success rather than prioritizing individual stats. “He puts guys in a position to be successful outside of himself.

That’s what sets them apart,” Williams added. The remarks quickly caught fire, drawing a strong reaction from former Nuggets guard Bones Hyland, who tweeted back, “Lost ya mind brother.”

Despite the chatter, Jokić’s on-court numbers speak for themselves.

Through seven games, he’s averaging an impressive triple-double with 29.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game, keeping Denver competitive in the Western Conference. The Nuggets, currently 4-3, have leaned heavily on Jokić, especially with Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon dealing with injuries.

This debate adds another layer of intrigue as Jokić prepares for a high-stakes matchup against the undefeated Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans will be watching closely to see if Jokić can continue his dominance and prove why he’s more than just impactful, but perhaps the most skilled and complete player in today’s game.
