Steph Curry’s hand puts Warriors on alert: You always get nervous when he’s hurt

Kerr addressed the situation after the game over the Kings

State Warriors fans had a bit of a scare on Friday night when superstar Stephen Curry had to leave their preseason game against the Sacramento Kings due to an injury.

The Warriors guard exited the game in the second quarter after hurting his shooting hand and did not return for the remainder of the matchup.

Curry headed to the locker room accompanied by Warriors director of sports medicine, Rick Celebrini, leaving many concerned about the severity of the injury.

When the second half started and Curry was nowhere to be seen on the bench, anxiety spread among fans. Curry underwent X-rays to evaluate the damage, which thankfully revealed it was just a jammed right finger. There was no serious damage, easing worries for the team and its supporters.

Head coach Steve Kerr addressed the situation after the game, clarifying that Curry sitting out the rest of the game was merely a precautionary measure. Kerr assured that there’s no cause for concern and that the team wanted to be cautious since it’s only the preseason.

“I was assured at halftime that it was fine,” Kerr told reporters. “X-Rays were negative. It wasn’t anything too concerning. But yeah, you always get nervous when he’s hurt.”

According to reports, Curry is now listed as day-to-day, which means he could return as soon as Sunday when the Warriors take on the Detroit Pistons in their next preseason game.
